About the Speaker: 

Thompson Gilman, Esq.
Woods Oviatt Gilman, LLP

Tom is a partner at Woods Oviatt Gilman, LLP and Past Chair of the Family Wealth & Estate Planning Department, where his practice is concentrated in estate planning, trust and estate administration, probate and estate tax law.

He received his B.A. degree from the University of Vermont and his J.D. degree from Albany Law School. Active in the Monroe County Bar Association, he has served as chair of the Trusts & Estates Section, Charitable Gifts Committee, Florida Practice Committee and Memorial Committee. 

Tom chairs the United Way of Greater Rochester's Professional Advisors Committee. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Management of the YMCA Day Care Center at Lewis Street, a member of the Planned Giving Advisory Committees of the YMCA and Monroe Community College Foundation, and a member of the Community Sponsors Committee of the Rochester Area Community Foundation. 

In 2007 he received the McKnight Award recognizing his years of pro bono work through the Volunteer Legal Services Project.
